Orotic Acid is a precursor for pyrimidine bases occurring in nucleic acids (DNA/ RNA). "Orotic Acid is Growth Factor". Orotic acid is a very important molecule for building of cells and hence building of muscles. The popular website Body Building describes Orotic Acid as the Sexiest Sports Nutrition Nutrient in Existence. It is sometimes called Vitamin B 13 Orotic Acid aids the regeneration of ATP(Adenosine TriPhosphate) which is the conduit for energy to the cells. If ATP regenesis lags then the cell growth is affected. Orotic Acid further enhances the availability of UMP( uridine monophosphate) and further downstream nucleotides (viz. triphosphates) Orotic Acid may be beneficial after a heart attack.
